Twelve Days Of Christmas

I learned a new song from a book that is called the twelve days of Kiwi Christmas. I also learned a new song in that book called a Pukeko in a ponga tree.

I enjoyed making up all of the funny sentences that my group and I made. I enjoyed working cooperatively with my group and my friends, also enjoyed the pictures of our slides.

What I found challenging was the pictures that we had to find to match our sentences. It was also challenging to get a perfect picture that had fit.

I found it easy to think of ideas and come up with things like backgrounds, photos and others.

Next time I could maybe work faster instead of mucking around and doing nothing and maybe next time work a little bit more better with my group.

Teaser Activity

 

I learned how to get onto a color in website and create my own of the original.

I enjoyed coloring in my own copy of the original photo that I picked and I think that the original photo looks amazing and then compare it to mine they kind of look the same just mine has more darker colors.

I found it quite challenging to pick one of the photos because there was so many beautiful pictures to choose from and I just couldn't make up my mind but then for some reason I just picked randomly the picture of the wave. I also found it really hard to color in all of the bekaboo whites because the spot that had not been colored in was just too small for my mouse cursor but I still managed to get it.

Next time I will try to pick a more detailed picture and challenge myself with lots of little spots and try to get better at art. Next time I could try make both pictures look similar instead of making them look different.

2020 Manaiakalani CyberSmart

 

This year in Cybersmart we have been learning about so many tools and skills and even some mindset work when we are learning to write about something for example toolset goes with google slides, skillset goes with poly line, mindset goes with being the learning kind.

Some of my favourite things that I've learned to do includes math equations, reading, mathletics, sports and more physical stuff.

Some of the things that have been the most challenging are thinking of ideas for my writing samples and writing recounts and poems.

Some things I wish we had learned about that we didn't, or learned more about are toolset, skillset and mindset.

When we made our review, I was thinking about how I was going to make my slide up and how I was going to do it.

Digital Mandala Art

 

We were learning about doing mandala art on a google drawing.

I found it easy to decorate the colours of the circles and the lines.

I found it challenging to create the lines to the exact size for them to fit into the circle.

Next Time I will make more circles and try and make more of a better design.

Moment In Time

 

We were learning about doing a detailed piece of writing about a video that we had watched about a Hawk and a Squirrel.

I found it easy to create my background and get the ideas out of the top of my head.

I found it challenging to remember to make my piece of writing present tense instead of past tense.

Next time I will remember what type of tense my writing will be and remember to use the type of tense that is in my writing.

What Christmas Means To Me

 

 

We were learning about doing something creative about what Christmas means to me. 

I found it really easy to create and find the background for my presentations. 

I also found it easy to copy and paste my writing.

I found it challenging to find santa with his sleigh and his deers. Next time I will do more work and detail in my writing.

We were learning about writing our own acrostic poem.

I found it easy to rhyme the words to create my acrostic poem.

I found it challenging to come up with what I was gonna do about my background that matched my acrostic poem.

Next time I will get a better background and do more acrostic poems.

Book Review

 

 

We were learning about doing your own book review. 

 I found it easy to write down the good things about the book because there was just so many good things I could have wrote. 

 I found it challenging to circle the thumb because it was really hard to get it into the right spot. 

 Next time I will write down more ideas about the good things.

Touch Rugby

 

 

We were earning about writing a story about anything. 

 I found it easy to write my paragraph because I memorized everything we did at touch rugby. 

 I found it challenging to find more information about what we did on the day. 

 Next time I will get more information then write all of it down so I get more detail.

Shapes

 

 

We were learning about doing a presentation of shapes and translating them into moari.

 I found it easy to insert the shapes and get the background I wanted.

 I found it challenging to get the shapes into the spot I wanted them to go in. I also found it challenging to find the moari names of the shapes.

 Next time I will try to memorize all of the moari names and add more creation and more detail to my work

Colours

 

We were learning about making a slide about colours.

I found it easy to write down the names of the colours and in maori.

I found it challenging to find a clear background photo of each fruit that matches the colour.

Next time I will do more slides and do more work and always try my best.

The Selfies

 

We were learning about how to realise if something suspicious is real or if it is fake.

I found it easy to insert my photo onto the background that I had picked.

I found it challenging to write down my postcard about what I did.

Next time I will do more writing and try to create a more quality stamp.

The Ocean

 

We were learning about writing our own recount about one of our fears.

I found it easy to write and do my one, two, three planning for my recount.

I found it challenging to get a lot of ideas to write down on to my recount.

Next time I will try and write down more and finish in the given time.

The Beach

 

We were learning about writing a recount about something what we did in the past.

I found it easy to write all of the first things that came to my mind.

I found it challenging to write down all the things that I could remember from the day.

Next time I will try and remember everything that I did on the day I wrote about.

Digital Learning

We were learning about making a blog post about something that we learned about through the year.

I found it easy to write down all of the facts about angles and create my background and make my word art.

I found it challenging to fit every single one of my facts about angles that I wrote down.

Next time I will get more facts about angles or try something different to post about.

Rangi and Papa Story

 

We were learning about making our own Ebook and posting it to our blog.

I found it easy to write down the story on my slide.

I found it challenging to help my cooperative groups slides because I didn't know what they wanted me to do.

Next time I will ask my cooperative team what to do so I can help them finish instead of waiting there and doing nothing

The Hangi

 

We were learning about writing our own recount about something that we done in the past weeks.

I found it easy to create my own background for my recount.

I found it challenging to write down all my ideas for my recount.

Next time I will try to do more paragraphs in my writing.

My Waka

We were learning about making our own waka and inserting it onto our blog.

I found it easy to use the curve and polyline tool to create my piece of art. I found it easy to create my hoe waka (paddles) as well because all I had to do was just use the curve tool and shape it into a shape on a paddle and boom that was it.

I found it challenging to make my waka and waka hoe the right size for my google drawing, it took a lot of tries big, small, big, small but the last try I got it.

Next time I will make it look more realistic and more like a waka especially the paddles. I will also try to add more detail by trying to add real looking people on the boat.

 

Environment Writing

 

We were learning about writing a sample about the environment. We were also learning about a lot more things like the ocean, rubbish but most of all the most important thing was the environment.

I found it easy to publish my writing sample to my blog and I found it easy to do my writing because I had a lot of ideas coming out the top of my head and so I just wrote them all down onto my google doc.

I found it challenging to edit my writing because whenever I think I am done my writing I always have to double check and come across the hardest part editing. It is really really hard because I am not that good at writing and so i'm not sure if I have done this or that and it just keeps me thinking for a long long time.

Next time I will practise on my editing and learn lots more and I will try to learn the understandings of the steps I have to do while editing so that I know how to do everything when the time comes.

Family Matters Most

We were learning about making a piece of persuasive writing.

I found it easy to write about the video that we watched to get all of the information.

I found it challenging to remember a lot of the information in the video because it talked about one thing then another and another and another.

Next time I will try to write more do more paragraphs and more full sentences.

Banning milk at Awapuni School

We were learning about writing a story about banning milk at Awapuni school.

I found it easy to write all of my statements in my piece of writing.

I found it challenging to write the rest of my writing because I just think about other things like how I could have improved my writing instead of actually write my writing.

Next time I will Improve my writing by making my paragraphs have more sentences, write in full sentences and just a bit more punctuation.

Book Review

We were learning about doing our reading task called the book review.

I found it easy to make stars and then colour them in with the colour yellow and I also found it really easy to circle the thumbs up button to know that I really liked the story.

I found it challenging to write my sentences because I had to make them really have a lot of detail and a lot of quality in them.

Next time I will write more sentences and try t even colour the thumbs up button as well.

Plastic Bottles

We were learning about writing arguments about using plastic bottles.

I found it easy to make this creative background and turn it in a 135 degree turn to make it look a bit more stylish.

I found it challenging to write my writing because I did not know which side of the agreement I should pick.

Next time I will use more power words in my writing instead of lazy words.

Teaching How To Use Scratch

We were learning about Teaching others how to use scratch.

I found it easy to use the screencastify.

I also found it easy to copy and paste the link because all I have to do is push two buttons and I am done.

Leaves

We were learning about writing a poem of something we had seen at waikanae stream and waihirere stream.

I found it easy to put my writing onto the google slides straight from the google docs because I just press two buttons and I am done.

I found it challenging to create a positive background that will suit my writing and title.

Next time I will do more writing and get more sentences and also try and get more slides.

Scratch Commenting

"I love Scratch!" I want to play and code everyday. So how to play this game is very easy all you have to do is press the green and play using the right arrow key and the left arrow key. That is how to play my Scratch game.

The Waihirere Stream

We were learning about doing a poem but instead I did a recount.

I found it easy to transfer the writing into the slide, and get a good looking background to suit my writing.

I found it challenging to write this and try to get a little bit of fancy words but I think I did well.

Next time I will get more writing done in the maximum amount of time because I get distracted easily.

The Trampoline

We were learning about copy and pasting our writing onto a slide.

I found it easy to copy and paste the writing because I just press two buttons and I am done.

I found it challenging to find a suitable font so people can read this piece of writing more clearly.

Next time I will do more writing I will try to get just two slides and then I will post it on my blog

Digital Reading Challenge

We were learning about creating a link of something we did and copying the link into the thing that says my creative reading task.

I found it easy to copy the link into the writing my creative reading task.

I found it challenging to make the link a good size for people to see it because it was so small and i could not make it bigger.

Next time I will post something else like a google drawing, google slides, animation or another scratch game.

The Fun Run

We were learning about writing our own story about something we did in the past last month.

I found it easy to copy and paste all my writing into the slides because all i had to do was Ctrl c, then Ctrl v.

I found it challenging to find a normal font so that people can read my writing more better.

Next time I will do more paragraphs, get more writing and I will get two slides.

Quality Blog Comment

We were learning about how to write a quality blog comment.

I found it easy to get a background and write the title.

I found it challenging to write all of the ideas down because it was hard to think of some.

Next time I will get more ideas, and then extend the writing in those ides.

We were learning about creating and making our own animation.

I found it easy to make the stars appear in the night sky.

I found it challenging to keep the boy (me) moving.

Next time I will make it more creative because the boy wasn't moving for a little while.

Lunar New Year Publish

We were learning about publishing our Lunar New Year Report.

I found it easy to copy and paste all of my work onto the slide that I have created.

I found it challenging to make the work fit on the slide. So I had to make the size a bit smaller.

Next time I will get more words and sentences on the slide because I think that there is not enough words on that one slide.

What is Ururangi

We were learning about Ururangi the star of the 9 Sisters called Matariki.

I found it easy to make all of my textures and write all of my ides.

I found it challenging to find a nice looking background to fit onto my own slide.

Next time I will get more facts and more things to show about Ururangi.

We were learning about making an Avatar with an element and an animal.

I found it easy to crop the images and put the images in place to make it look like an animal that needs our help.

I found it challenging to cooperate a little bit. But in the end it all was great after all.

Next time I will check things I have done wrong just like trying to see the fire on the lion a bit better.

My Matariki Report

We were learning about putting our Matariki report into a slide. Also publishing that onto our blog.

I found it easy to make the slide. Copy and pasting and putting it on the slide to publish.

I found it challenging to post in onto my blog and put the side at the bottom.

Next time I will put more data and information onto my slide.

Hi my name is Tuturi and I go to Awapuni School. I am 9 years old.
