Rere RockSlide

 

In my writing class we have been working on creating our own piece of writing about our favourite place to be. Personally my favourite place to be is probably Morere Rockslide. Because there is a bombing spot and a huge rockslide, and also you will have lots of fun. It was extremely fun for me because I had seen some of my mates from school and It was excellent. It was a really great time seeing them I hope I could go there again sometime.

I really found my work easy because I could remember lots of what my friends and I had done on the day. I tried to add as much personification as I could and use the most descriptive words I could think of. Today I pushed myself and wrote down four paragraphs.

There were not many things I found challenging but only probably a few problems. I did kind of struggle with writing four paragraphs in the amount of time but I did it so maybe I can achieve that again the next writing session.

Next time maybe I can put more punctuation and descriptive words in my writing and more descriptive language. I am still learning to put more rich words and less lazy words. I will try and strive for better writing and a bigger improvement.

Fantasy Creature

 

My writing class and I have been working on creating and coming up with our own fantasy creature. We have thought about what type of Genre our creature would be and then we have filled in other things like what type of special abilities our creature could have, history, where it has come from or we he was born and then the inspiration, purpose and everything else that had been on the google slide. I have done my work the highest quality I could achieve and complete my work with the given amount of time.

While proceeding through my work I have found lots of easy tasks that I have to do which was, drawing/polyline my creature but I have drawn. As I think it would be much easier. I easily thought about what type of Genre my creature would be and what its would purpose would be.

I am very positive in saying that there were a lot of challenging things that had taken place in the time completing my work. The things I found hard were drawing my creature because I had so many Ideas about what I wanted to draw, but I could only use one. Therefore it had made me frustrated but I had been resilient and carried on with that task, later I completed it.

 I have taken my work and done the best quality I could do. I have completed my work in the given amount and I think that maybe next time I could finish my work with a more high standard and level up on my writing by using more detailed words and maybe more punctuation.

Olympics Acrostic Poem

 

For the past two weeks we have been recording information and learning about the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. We started doing an Inquiry about it and now we have started a acrostic poem. Here is my acrostic poem that I have been working on.

I thought that this work was really easy but I really liked doing this and I hope we do more stuff like this because it is really fun to do. I liked doing this because I had a challenge but I overcame that and finished my work in the given amount of time.

This work was really easy but their were a little bit of things that were kind of challenging to me. The first thing was trying to come up with a word that started with I but I never gave up and completed that task.

I am not sure that I have done any mistakes so maybe next time I can try to reflect on my work and try to level up with my mahi and complete my work with the high standards that needs to be shown in my work.

I Am Poem

 

We were learning about writing our own Poem about ourselves. We were learning about using adjectives and different types of words to describe what we could hear, see, feel and lots of other things about you.

I found it easy to borrow some of the words from the piece of paper that we had been given. I found it really easy to fill out the gaps and finish my work in the given amount of time.

I found it challenging to find the words on the piece of paper that I thought would match the this that I could see, feel and hear. I found it challenging to give each sentence that I wrote there own space and struggled to fit each of them on my page.

Next time I will fit every sentence in each box. Next time I will finish with more richer sentences and use ore descriptive words in each sentence within my writing.

Should we be prepared for a Natural Disaster?

 

We were learning about writing our own piece of persuasive writing with descriptive words, punctuation, the right tense, adverbs, verbs, nouns and lots of different other words.

I found it easy to create my background and find all of my evidence I was going to use to support my statements. It was easy to write the facts from different websites into my own words.

I found it challenging to think of all of the statements and what I was going to write about. I struggled a little bit with fitting each of my paragraphs on each page so they wouldn't get cut off when they get printed.

Next time I will put more detail into my writing, more descriptive words, more punctuation. I will get my writing done with the given amount of time and try to always have the right tense.

Swimming In The Rain

 

We were learning about creating a piece of writing  about a moment in time such as writing about something we did in the past or about a story that we can properly remember.

I found it easy to use mote and create the audio as a welcome and introduction. I also found it easy to think of words from the top of my head as well as thinking of descriptive words to put in my writing.

I found it quite challenging to remember more about the writing because it was quite a while ago.  I found it hard to think of all of the things that we did in the pool at that time.

Next time I will create more of a descriptive story with more detail and more rich words, also with full sentences and all my correct punctuation.

Triathlon

 

We were learning about writing a recount about our Triathlon Day.

I found it easy to write about it and write down lots of information because I could remember most of the activities that we did and also because there was lots of stuff that we had been doing on the day such as Individual race, Team race and cheering on all of our friends but mostly everybody.

I found it challenging to write about the race because that was like the only thing that I didn't remember but I instantly brought it back into my mind within seconds.

Next time I will try write with more rich words, have the right tense always, full sentences and try to remember to write down lots more detail.

SunFlowers

 

We were learning about writing a environmental poem about sunflowers and giving it human features.

I found it really easy to create the backgrounds, get pictures and also designing everything.

I found it quite challenging to think of a rich short sentence about sunflowers and it's human features.

Next time I will thrive for a more rich and descriptive writing and always finish my work on time.

Twelve Days Of Christmas

I learned a new song from a book that is called the twelve days of Kiwi Christmas. I also learned a new song in that book called a Pukeko in a ponga tree.

I enjoyed making up all of the funny sentences that my group and I made. I enjoyed working cooperatively with my group and my friends, also enjoyed the pictures of our slides.

What I found challenging was the pictures that we had to find to match our sentences. It was also challenging to get a perfect picture that had fit.

I found it easy to think of ideas and come up with things like backgrounds, photos and others.

Next time I could maybe work faster instead of mucking around and doing nothing and maybe next time work a little bit more better with my group.

Moment In Time

 

We were learning about doing a detailed piece of writing about a video that we had watched about a Hawk and a Squirrel.

I found it easy to create my background and get the ideas out of the top of my head.

I found it challenging to remember to make my piece of writing present tense instead of past tense.

Next time I will remember what type of tense my writing will be and remember to use the type of tense that is in my writing.

What Christmas Means To Me

 

 

We were learning about doing something creative about what Christmas means to me. 

I found it really easy to create and find the background for my presentations. 

I also found it easy to copy and paste my writing.

I found it challenging to find santa with his sleigh and his deers. Next time I will do more work and detail in my writing.

We were learning about writing our own acrostic poem.

I found it easy to rhyme the words to create my acrostic poem.

I found it challenging to come up with what I was gonna do about my background that matched my acrostic poem.

Next time I will get a better background and do more acrostic poems.

Book Review

 

 

We were learning about doing your own book review. 

 I found it easy to write down the good things about the book because there was just so many good things I could have wrote. 

 I found it challenging to circle the thumb because it was really hard to get it into the right spot. 

 Next time I will write down more ideas about the good things.

Touch Rugby

 

 

We were earning about writing a story about anything. 

 I found it easy to write my paragraph because I memorized everything we did at touch rugby. 

 I found it challenging to find more information about what we did on the day. 

 Next time I will get more information then write all of it down so I get more detail.

The Ocean

 

We were learning about writing our own recount about one of our fears.

I found it easy to write and do my one, two, three planning for my recount.

I found it challenging to get a lot of ideas to write down on to my recount.

Next time I will try and write down more and finish in the given time.

The Beach

 

We were learning about writing a recount about something what we did in the past.

I found it easy to write all of the first things that came to my mind.

I found it challenging to write down all the things that I could remember from the day.

Next time I will try and remember everything that I did on the day I wrote about.

Digital Learning

We were learning about making a blog post about something that we learned about through the year.

I found it easy to write down all of the facts about angles and create my background and make my word art.

I found it challenging to fit every single one of my facts about angles that I wrote down.

Next time I will get more facts about angles or try something different to post about.

The Hangi

 

We were learning about writing our own recount about something that we done in the past weeks.

I found it easy to create my own background for my recount.

I found it challenging to write down all my ideas for my recount.

Next time I will try to do more paragraphs in my writing.

My Waka

We were learning about making our own waka and inserting it onto our blog.

I found it easy to use the curve and polyline tool to create my piece of art. I found it easy to create my hoe waka (paddles) as well because all I had to do was just use the curve tool and shape it into a shape on a paddle and boom that was it.

I found it challenging to make my waka and waka hoe the right size for my google drawing, it took a lot of tries big, small, big, small but the last try I got it.

Next time I will make it look more realistic and more like a waka especially the paddles. I will also try to add more detail by trying to add real looking people on the boat.

 

Environment Writing

 

We were learning about writing a sample about the environment. We were also learning about a lot more things like the ocean, rubbish but most of all the most important thing was the environment.

I found it easy to publish my writing sample to my blog and I found it easy to do my writing because I had a lot of ideas coming out the top of my head and so I just wrote them all down onto my google doc.

I found it challenging to edit my writing because whenever I think I am done my writing I always have to double check and come across the hardest part editing. It is really really hard because I am not that good at writing and so i'm not sure if I have done this or that and it just keeps me thinking for a long long time.

Next time I will practise on my editing and learn lots more and I will try to learn the understandings of the steps I have to do while editing so that I know how to do everything when the time comes.
